Our History

 The East Clinton Fire District is located in the hamlet of Clinton Corners, NY and is situated halfway between New York City and the State Capitol Albany.  The fire district is approximately 20 sq. miles and consists mostly of residential homes and small businesses.

 In the spring of 1931 a man named Henry Drake sent a letter to the men's club at the church in Clinton Corners. The letter suggested the cre­ation of a fire department by the club. The men's club sent a return letter to Mr. Drake stating that if he thought a fire department was needed that he should start one.  On June 8, 1931 Henry Drake took the advice of the men's club and a meeting was held in the church gym.  At this meeting the Clinton Corners Fire Protection Association was formed.
